Tommie Welch

National Trainer and Team Support Specialist


Tommie has been a National Trainer and Team Support Specialist for Family Leadership since 2016. She is a popular presenter at conferences such as ACET in Texas, district principal meetings, and workshops.

Tommie taught for over 28 years in four districts. Her career included teaching children in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and second grade. She earned a Bachelor’s in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master’s in Education from University of Houston. 

Tommie was a Parenting Partners™ Facilitator while teaching for 3 years and then seamlessly joined our staff. She brings personal knowledge of the program from both the educators and trainers perspective.

Tommie is a native Texan, having grown up in East Texas, lived in Houston for over 20 years, and now living in the Waco area. Tommie and her husband Mike have a blended family which includes 6 grown children and 2 grandchildren. They are busy with their large extended family!

Tommie’s husband, Mike Welch, has extensive experience as a District State & Federal Programs Director and leader in statewide associations such as ACET. Mike recently developed our new Parenting Partners™ assessment survey and often joins our team for training launch and conference events. 

Tommie loves to read, travel, and volunteer through her church. Secret talent: Tommie plays the piano and is a child whisperer!
