Ruth spent her early years in Kenedy, TX .  She received her Bachelors Degree from Southwestern College, Winfield KS.  She worked for a school district in San Antonio TX, retiring in 2019 after completing 38 years in education.

Ruth served as an Elementary classroom teacher, Physical Education teacher, Human Resources Coordinator and Family Engagement and Adult Education Coordinator with the district.  As a Family Engagement coordinator, her responsibilities included working with families and the community to increase vital partnerships, Title I compliance as it related to family engagement and GED/ESL programs.

She has extensive experience implementing the Parenting Partners program and understanding the best practices that work well at the district and school level.  Ruth lent her expertise to the Region 20 Family Engagement planning committee and the Statewide Family Engagement conference when it was held in San Antonio.

Ruth’s warm, engaging manner is a real asset in her role as a National trainer and Team Support Specialist for Family Leadership.
