Parenting Partners enjoyed meeting all our district and prospective partners at three Federal Programs conferences this October: ACET in Corpus Christi, Texas; LASAFAP in Marksville, LA; and SCATA in Myrtle Beach, SC.
David Porter, National Director and Patricia Wade, SC Team Support Specialist, presented the workshop “Building Family-School Partnerships: Strategic Engagement for Success” to enthusiastic conference participants.
Vanessa Smith (pictured below with David Porter at our booth) is one of our TOT leaders from Charleston. Vanessa co-facilitated our workshop. She did an excellent job of demonstrating “The Shield” skit, sharing what the program has done at CCSD and what it has meant for her personally as a mother as well.
Parenting Partners is recognized as a preferred program/family engagement model in South Carolina. We are partnered with many SC key districts including Charleston, Greenville and Richland One.
Our program was featured in several presentations by Charleston County at the conference sharing the success they are having with Parenting Partners.
We were honored to be a Silver Level sponsor of the SCATA conference once again this year.
Parenting Partners was a Bronze level Sponsor of the LASAFAP conference.
Katie Harri, National Director, enjoyed sharing success stories from LA partner districts, introducing conference participants to our Literacy tools/Spinner game during the Carnival, and even taking the stage with the Federal Programs director from Webster Parish during the Karaoke night!
Setting up the booth before the conference began!
Tommie Welch and Terri D’Agostino, our Houston-based staff presented the workshop “Family-School Partnerships: Effective Strategies for Engaging Parents in Student Success” during the ACET conference.
It was fun for conference participants to participate in the booth scavenger hunt, looking for our Conversation Spinner Game to promote Literacy at home. Many great connections were made.
